We were approached by a private client, who had an interest in preserving Woodbank Hall. Following years of decline and damage, there is a desire by the local authority and local interest groups to protect the building.

We were asked to look at high-level concept designs for converting the existing building into a hotel. With various options proposed, following a previous look at housing.

The options include utilising the existing building only, a small subtle extension or a larger contemporary extension. The key barriers to any future preservation and use of Woodbank Hall will require vehicle access to be resolved.

Making any future restoration project viable will require some level of compromise for each invested party. With the long-term goal being to restore and protect the building.

Over the coming years, we will see if and how this project materialises. With the intention of saving Woodbank Hall from falling into further disrepair.
