School Presentation – Working in Architecture
Sanderson Borland is thrilled to share that our Chartered Architectural Technologist, Elliot Dickson MCIAT, had the privilege of being invited to give an inspiring presentation to the students of Firrhill High School in Edinburgh today.
Elliot shared valuable insights into the world of architecture, discussing these final-year students through the various routes one can take to pursue a career in this dynamic field. From academic paths to hands-on experiences, Elliot’s presentation highlighted the diversity of opportunities available for passionate individuals.

The session focused on unleashing creativity and unlocking the potential within each student. Elliot emphasised that architecture isn’t just about buildings; it’s about storytelling, problem-solving, and creating spaces that resonate with people.
Whether it’s a traditional architecture degree, an apprenticeship, or a route through architectural technology, Elliot discussed the diverse pathways available, showcasing that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to success in this field.
