As part of our ongoing partnership with Harrison Hunt, we were asked to look at the potential for redevelopment of Shaftesbury House in Cheadle Hulme.
Currently, Shaftesbury House has 6 flats of varying sizes. Over the decades there have been various non-original extensions, particularly to the rear that are not in keeping with the original house.
We were looking to retain and improve the existing layout and rationalise the existing over-complex circulation space. Our initial proposal for the existing house was to rationalise the layout and improve the existing flat layouts. Furthermore modernising these layouts that have mostly remained unchanged for decades for current day living, with introducing en-suites and open-plan living.
To assist with the refurbishment of Shaftesbury House, further areas of new development were proposed on the surrounding land. This included a mix of 3 no. flats of 2-3 Bedrooms along with a pair of 4-bedroom semi-detached homes.
The majority of surrounding similar-scaled plots of land and houses have had similar interventions.
We look forward to continuing to work with our client if this project should be taken forward to planning submission.
